This panoramic picture, taken during evening twilight after sunset, shows the Earth's shadow cast onto the atmosphere above the horizon opposite the Sun. The shadow has a distinct blue-grey colour and is rising above the horizon as the Sun lowers further below the opposite horizon. The rose violet ribbon bordering the upper edge of the shadow is the anti-twilight arch, also known as the “Belt of Venus”. As the field of view in this panorama extends as far as the sunward horizon at the left and right edges of the picture, the twilight arch at 3 and 4 can be seen.
