Stratocumulus may show asperitas and fluctus, and at very low temperatures, cavum.
Stratocumulus may also show mamma; its under surface then presents an accentuated relief in the form of udders or inverted mounds that even appear to be on the point of detaching themselves from the cloud.
Stratocumulus mamma can be confused with Altostratus opacus with a mammillated (wrinkled) appearance.
Virga may also occur under Stratocumulus, especially at very low surface temperatures.
The feature praecipitatio rarely occurs. When it does, the precipitation (rain, snow or snow pellets) is only of weak intensity.
