(i) A veil of Cirrostratus that is not (or no longer) invading the sky progressively and that does not completely cover the whole sky; the edge of the veil may be clear cut or frayed.

(ii) The code figure C_H = 8 also applies to patches of Cirrostratus, increasing in amount or not.

(iii) Cirrus and Cirrocumulus (not predominant) may also be present.
