Hill fog

(Section 3.2.1.1.1)
  • Hill fog is a term denoting low cloud covering high ground. Hill fog does not necessarily require upslope motion, as in the case of the upslope type of hill fog. It can simply occur when the cloud base is lower than the tops of the hills. When viewed from below, it will be seen as Stratus cloud.
