A patch of Stratocumulus, in the shape of a lens or almond, often very elongated and usually with well-defined outlines. The patch is either composed of small elements (an apparent width greater than 5° when observed at an angle of more than 30° above the horizon), closely grouped together, or consists of one more or less smooth and usually dark unit. Irisation is possible.
This species of Stratocumulus is fairly rare.
