Secondary bow

(Section 3.2.3.5.2)

This can occur in addition to a primary rainbow. A secondary bow is much less bright than a primary bow, and has a breadth almost twice as large. The colours are reversed, with red on the inside (radius of the arc is 51°) and violet on the outside (radius is 54°). The discussion above on visibility of the primary bow applies similarly to the secondary bow, but the angles of elevation in this case are those applicable to the secondary bow.
